Short Description :

The primary objective of this role is to manage and support production systems and networks for the customer  platform

• To support the existing customers and solve technical issues whenever they arise
• To assist other members of the team for the customer  implementations
• Administration of production Linux servers, Windows servers, Netapp storage appliances, networking
• Apache web server and mod_perl administration
• Database administration
• Administration of support services such as DNS and Email
• Initiative and participation are required to constantly improve every aspect of the service supplied to  Customers
• Adopt established processes for a consistent and high quality implementation and constant improvement of the service
• On-call rota for 24-7 technical support required

Essential

• UNIX Administration (Linux/Redhat preferred)
• Apache & mod_perl
• Database Administration (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Networking, TCP/IP, routers/switches and load balancers
• Scripting: Shell, Perl
• DNS (Bind)
• SMTP (Postfix, sendmail, Exchange)
• Firewalls, IP filtering, ipchains/iptables
• Experience building and installing open source software
• Version Control System (e.g. CVS/RCS)
• Security-focused
• Attention to details
• Self-motivated and initiative
• Very organised
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Desire to automate common tasks
• Customer focused
• Understands and uses time management
• Communication skills - will deal with customers and third-parties

Desirable
